Disney Travel Podcast, Five Disney Inspired Trips
When You Want to Travel Somewhere New, but Still Want a Little Bit of Disney Inspiration

These Five Destinations will Appeal to Both the Disney Traveler and Non-Disney-Traveler

Sometimes a Disney traveler may be looking for an alternative to a typical Disney theme park vacation, but may have a hard time actually breaking away from their usual Walt Disney World vacation. Or, you may have someone in your party who has been know to say: "can we please go somewhere other than Walt Disney World this year?!" If either of these scenarios ring a bell for you, then be sure to listen to Episode 9 of our 1923 Main Street Disney Travel Podcast.

We offer five excellent and traveler-tested Disney-inspired vacation destinations that don't include a Disney theme park. For the non-Disney traveler, any of these five will be welcome vacation spots, as they all stand on their own as world-class places to visit. For the Disney traveler, each of these five upscale vacation destinations has something about it that will appeal to even the most avid of Disney travelers. So if you're looking to expand your Disney travel horizons, see how each of these five exceptional family travel spots are well worth considering for your next vacation.

Five Disney-Inspired Destinations with Not a Theme Park in Sight

Here are the five travel destinations that we cover in Episode 9 of our Disney travel podcast (in no particular order):
  1. Ko Olina, Oahu, Hawaii
Home of Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa. Combine a Hawaiian vacation with a touch of Disney magic to satisfy both the Disney traveler and non-Disney traveler alike.
  2. Nice, France
A favorite destination for Walt Disney and a big part of the inspiration for Disney's Riviera Resort at Walt Disney World. We suggest a stay at Hotel Le Negresco.
  3. Coronado Island, San Diego, California
Stay at the picturesque and historic Hotel Del Coronado, a beautiful beach front resort and the inspiration for Disney's Grand Floridian Resort.
  4. Vero Beach, Florida
Many Walt Disney World travelers are unaware that Disney has a laid-back beach front resort in Florida!
  5. San Francisco, California
A top travel destination in its own right, but did you know that San Francisco is also home to the Walt Disney Family Museum?

  1.  Stay Onsite at Walt Disney World Resort
There are many great reasons why this makes sense and we discuss them all.
  2. Book Your Trip as Early as Possible
If you're one of those travelers who prefers to wait (for whatever reason): don't! We'll tell you why it's important to book your Walt Disney World vacation as early as possible.
  3. Book Your Dining as Soon as You are Allowed
The early bird gets the worm and that has never been more true than it is with respect to booking your Walt Disney World dining. Find out why in Episode 8 of the 1923 Main Street Disney Travel Podcast.
  4. Book Your FastPasses as Soon as You are Allowed
It isn't just Disney dining that needs your attention. Knowing your FastPass booking date can make or break your Walt Disney World vacation.
  5. Get to the Park 30 Minutes Before Opening
Yes, the early bird is back again. Getting to the park early can have a major impact on the enjoyment of your entire Disney day. Amelia and I fill you in on exactly why this is the case.

With a little knowledge and awareness, anyone can be on their way to booking a well structured and thoughtfully planned Walt Disney World vacation. These five tips (and two key mistakes to avoid) will help you get started on a positive note.

Where to Meet Disney Princesses in the Parks (without having to book a meal)

Where to Meet Disney Princesses at Disney Dining Experiences

Dining with Disney Princesses is another fun way to spend a little more quality time with your favorite Disney Princess. There are several Disney Princess dining options from which to choose at Walt Disney World.

  • Cinderella's Royal Table, Cinderella Castle, Magic Kingdom Park
You will meet Cinderella here, along with four other Disney Princesses. They tend to rotate/change from time to time so you never know exactly who you will meet in this Royal Dining Room. Available for breakfast, lunch and dinner, plus a special fireworks and dessert add-on package.
  • Akershus, Norway, Epcot
Similar to Cinderella's Royal Table, you will meet five Disney Princesses here. These tend to include Belle, Aurora, Cinderella, Snow White and Ariel (subject to change). Available for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
  • Cinderella's Happily Ever After Dinner, 1900 Park Fare, Disney's Grand Floridian Resort
Cinderella is guaranteed meeting at this all-you-care to enjoy dinner. She is usually accompanied by any combination of the following: Anastasia, Drizella, Lady Tremaine, Prince Phiklip and the Fairy Godmother.
  • Bon Voyage Adventure Breakfast, Trattoria al Forno, Disney's Boardwalk
At this breakfast experience you will meet Ariel with Eric, and Rapunzel with Flynn Rider.
  • Storybook Dining, Artist Point, Disney's Wilderness Lodge
If you are a fan of Snow White and here with select dwarf friends, this is a good Disney Princess dining experience to consider.
  • Perfectly Princess Tea, Disney's Grand Floridian Resort
At this upscale royal tea party you will meet Princess Aurora (Sleeping Beauty) at a decidedly upscale event.
