Blizzard Beach Water Park Reopens November 13 at Walt Disney World (But you Might Not Like Some of the New Additions)
Just in time for Winter, Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park is set to reopen for the holiday season. Following a lengthy refurbishment, Blizzard Beach has a few surprises in store -- most notably that is has been rethemed with elements from Frozen.
Is this a good thing or a bad thing? Here's what's in store in the new Blizzard Beach.
Frozen friends at Tike’s Peak
Tike’s Peak is the kids' area and it now features Frozen fun for the little ones. Mini slides and attractions, an Anna and Elsa igloo castle, a wading pool area with Olaf and friends, there's Frozen fun for every kid.
Blizzard Beach for the Holiday Season
Feel the holidays there are limited-time food and beverage offerings such as Orange Bird DOLE Whip cone and Peppermint Milkshake. Through December 31, there will be a merry atmosphere with daily snowfall, holiday music, festive inner tubes and even a tropical-dressed Santa.
Take the Plunge Down Summit Plummet
Did you know that Summit Plummet is the fastest attraction and scariest ride at Walt Disney World? Descend Mount Gushmore in a near-vertical drop on the tallest and fastest freefall body slide in town.
New and Old Favorite Food and Drink Creations
New food at Blizzard Beach includes Cajun Shrimp and Grits, and Watta-Melon Passion Lemonade from Lottawatta Lounge. Returning favorite flavors include seasonal DOLE Whip offerings, a Double Bacon Cheeseburger and the iconic 50th Ice Dream Sand Pail Sundae.
Polar Patios are the Way to Go for Upscale Blizzard Beach
You can rent a private patio at Blizzard Beach complete with polar perks like comfortable seating options and refillable drink mugs for a relaxing break from the action.
Toboggan Runners, the Race is On
Get in the holiday spirit and zoom down a water slide toboggan style. The course is full of dips, hills and fierce competition as you race against friends and family to see who will win.
Family Fun at Teamboat Springs
Teamboat Springs is one of the longest whitewater raft adventures in the world. There are twists and turns, unpredictable rapids and drenching sprays of water as these oversized inner-tube rafts venture down the waterslide.
Get a Lift to the Top of Mount Gushmore
Take in the view of the snowy setting and embark on a leisurely journey to the top of Mount Gushmore on the Blizzard Beach chairlift. The chairlift goes to Summit Plummet, Slush Gusher and Teamboat Springs.
Speed down Mount Gushmore on three unique slides with twists and turns along the way, ending in a huge splashdown at the bottom.
