Blizzard Beach Water Park Reopens November 13 at Walt Disney World (But you Might Not Like Some of the New Additions)
Just in time for Winter, Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park is set to reopen for the holiday season. Following a lengthy refurbishment, Blizzard Beach has a few surprises in store -- most notably that is has been rethemed with elements from Frozen. Is this a good thing or a bad thing? Here's what's in store in the new Blizzard Beach. Frozen friends at Tike’s Peak Tike’s Peak is the kids' area and it now features Frozen fun for the little ones. Mini slides and attractions, an Anna and Elsa igloo castle, a wading pool area with Olaf and friends, there's Frozen fun for every kid. Blizzard Beach for the Holiday Season Feel the holidays there are limited-time food and beverage offerings such as Orange Bird DOLE Whip cone and Peppermint Milkshake. Through December 31, there will be a merry atmosphere with daily snowfall, holiday music, festive inner tubes and even a tropical-dressed Santa. Take the Plunge Down Summit Plummet Did you know that Summit Plummet is the fastest attraction and scariest ride at Walt Disney World? Descend Mount Gushmore in a near-vertical drop on the tallest and fastest freefall body slide in town. New and Old Favorite Food and Drink Creations New food at Blizzard Beach includes Cajun Shrimp and Grits, and Watta-Melon Passion Lemonade from Lottawatta Lounge. Returning favorite flavors include seasonal DOLE Whip offerings, a Double Bacon Cheeseburger and the iconic 50th Ice Dream Sand Pail Sundae. Polar Patios are the Way to Go for Upscale Blizzard Beach You can rent a private patio at Blizzard Beach complete with polar perks like comfortable seating options and refillable drink mugs for a relaxing break from the action. Toboggan Runners, the Race is On Get in the holiday spirit and zoom down a water slide toboggan style. The course is full of dips, hills and fierce competition as you race against friends and family to see who will win. Family Fun at Teamboat Springs Teamboat Springs is one of the longest whitewater raft adventures in the world. There are twists and turns, unpredictable rapids and drenching sprays of water as these oversized inner-tube rafts venture down the waterslide. Get a Lift to the Top of Mount Gushmore Take in the view of the snowy setting and embark on a leisurely journey to the top of Mount Gushmore on the Blizzard Beach chairlift. The chairlift goes to Summit Plummet, Slush Gusher and Teamboat Springs. Runoff Rapids Speed down Mount Gushmore on three unique slides with twists and turns along the way, ending in a huge splashdown at the bottom. First Glance: The Flavor and Fun Coming to EPCOT International Festival of the Arts January 13 - February 20, 2023 The EPCOT International Festival of the Arts returns January 13, 2023 and runs through February 20, 2023. The festival is a global celebration of visual, culinary and performing arts. 16 Food Studios will serve up art-inspired menus appealing to a variety of palates. The creations are not just delicious, but true works of art. And something new is coming in 2023: The festival culinary team is putting finishing touches on two new Food Studios. Moderne, located near Test Track, will feature new avant-garde menu items. The other new Food Studio, Figment’s Inspiration Station at the Odyssey: Art, Food, and Little Sparks of Magic, promises to deliver treats and beverages bursting with vibrant colors and flavors. During the festival, more than 100 Disney and visiting artists will showcase their art. You can also learn to draw a Disney character at Animation Academy, and leave yourcreative mark at Expression Section: A Paint by Number Mural. Or help Figment learn about art on a scavenger hunt around World Showcase.
