The Story Behind 1923 Main Street®
Where Freedom Meets the Open Road
At 1923 Main Street®, we believe that travel isn’t just a destination… it’s a mindset. Travel is about chasing horizons, carving new terrain, and wearing your story on your sleeve. Our brand lives at the intersection of boardsports culture and unscripted travel, inspired by the effortless flow of skate, snow, surf, and the endless road between.
Our Origins: A Legacy on Boards
1923 Main Street may be a modern travel-wear brand, but its roots run deep in board culture.
Mike Belobradic — our founder — didn’t just build a travel brand; he grew up in the heart of the boardsports world. In the 1990s, Mike launched Three Sixty Spins magazine (also known as 360 Spins), a scrappy, grassroots zine dedicated to the local skateboard and snowboard scene. What began as a newsletter stapled together in his downtown condo became a full-fledged publication, carried in board shops across Canada, along with the Western U.S. and Northeastern U.S.
That magazine wasn’t just print — it was mission, community, and a little rebellion (in those days, some ski hills didn’t even allow snowboarders). Mike folded every page, every layout, every interview, and late-night design sesh into something real. Even when it went bi-monthly, he stayed true to the ethos: editorial first, community always. Today, that same spirit lives in the 1923 Main Street clothing brand — but transposed onto travel-inspired streetwear.
When Mike’s daughter, Amelia, joined the brand, she brought her own board-life passion. A gifted snowboarder — and skateboarder when she can — she’s won multiple provincial golds and was part of her high school women’s snowboarding team that took home the top prize for the entire region. Even landlocked, she chases waves whenever she can, riding her surfboard in spirit. Together, Mike and Amelia built 1923 Main Street to be more than a clothing company — it’s a tribute to their shared life on boards, in motion, and in travel.
Why 1923? 1923 was an important year in so many creative ways. And a big part of that is that 1923 was a formative year for surfing, with the likes of Duke Kahanamoku and others, who paved the way for the boardsports that we know and love to this day. The Main Street vibe brings it all together. We aim to make 1923 Main Street a destination that unites everyone who shares the likes and ethos of the brand. It may be an address that lives virtually, but the sense of community and style is very real.
The Mustang Within: A Symbol of Freedom
Our logo — Mane the mustang — isn’t just a graphic. It’s a metaphor. Fast, agile, wild and free. Mane represents the spirit of a horse that roams without fences, of someone who carries no saddle, just a sense of purpose. That same spirit that fuels everything we do (on or off a board).
We see travel the way a mustang sees open land: a field of possibility, unbounded and calling. When you wear 1923 Main Street®, you’re not just wearing clothing — you’re carrying a symbol of speed, quiet strength and the freedom to roam.
The 1923 Main Street Ethos: Boards, Travel & Discovery
Boardsports First: Every design, every collection, is informed by a lifetime on a board — whether that’s carving pow, chasing surf, or grinding concrete.
Unscripted Travel: We celebrate adventure without an itinerary. The thrill of the unknown, the joy of detours, the stories you didn’t plan to tell.
Sustainable Spirit: Our print-on-demand model reduces waste, allowing you to wear your journey, not someone else’s leftovers.
Community: From our roots in local board scenes to global travelers across continents — we ride together and always with respect.

An Environmentally Responsible Approach to T-Shirts and Apparel at 1923 Main Street
Our core values at 1923 Main Street include taking steps to consider the impact that we have on our global environment.
One important change that we implemented in 2023 — to be an environmentally responsible clothing brand — was to exclusively follow a print-on-demand model for our clothing lines. This means that we do not produce and stock thousands of versions of clothing. This approach is where leftover unsold garments can become a significant problem on our global ecosystem, clogging landfills and weighing on the planet. The images of this situation are sobering.
By following a print-on-demand model at 1923 Main Street, we eliminate the issue of unsold inventory (significantly reducing waste down the line), which reduces carbon emissions associated with our apparel. This has allowed us to offer more efficient production and fulfilment centers, and continually work to source more sustainable clothing materials and production methods.
This is also why all sales at 1923 Main Street are final sale, and also why we have a no-returns or exchanges policy. Please take this into consideration when ordering by carefully reviewing the easy-to-use clothing size guides that we include in every product listing.

Mike Belobradic
About Mike Belobradic
Founder, 1923 Main Street® Clothing Company
Mike Belobradic has spent his life in motion — on boards, on planes, and across countless miles of open road. Long before he started 1923 Main Street®, Mike was carving lines on pavement and snow, publishing Three Sixty Spins, a 1990s skate and snowboard magazine dedicated to the local scene and the riders who shaped it. Creativity, community and the culture of board-life were at the center of everything he made then, and they still are today.
Mike also grew up traveling constantly. His earliest adventures were cross-country road trips from Toronto to California, where his father (an early admirer of Walt Disney) introduced him to the idea that travel could expand your world. Those trips evolved into decades of global travel: coastlines, cities, mountains, surf breaks, and yes, many Disney destinations along the way. Travel became the through-line of Mike’s life: a way to explore, to create and to stay connected to the things that mattered.
With a professional background in digital strategy and marketing, and a lifelong love of design, Mike eventually channeled all of this into 1923 Main Street — a brand built on freedom, exploration and creative expression. What began years ago as a subtle Disney-focused travel insight evolved as Mike and his daughter Amelia brought their own board-centric lifestyle to the forefront: skate, snow, surf, and the unscripted adventure that ties them all together.
Today, Mike continues to shape 1923 Main Street as a brand that reflects his core values: originality, quality, and the belief that great apparel should carry the spirit of the journey. From the early days of Three Sixty Spins to global travel and modern streetwear design, Mike’s story is rooted in motion — and the brand he built is, too.
In addition to 1923 Main Street, Mike runs a Luxury Disney Travel site, along with related sites at SmokeFireGrill.ca and the GrandOneLounge.com
Amelia Belobradic
About Amelia Belobradic
Style and Design Director, 1923 Main Street®
Amelia Belobradic grew up with a passport in her pocket, a board under her feet, and a natural eye for style.
As Mike’s daughter, she inherited a love for travel early — exploring everything from California coastlines to European cities, from island surf to the energy of Disney destinations around the world. But it’s her life on boards that has always been a passion.
A dedicated snowboarder from age 4, followed by skateboarduing, and whenever the chance appears, surfing, Amelia brings real credentials to the culture that inspires 1923 Main Street. She has earned multiple regional gold medals and helped lead her high-school women’s snowboarding team to the top of the podium for the entire region. Even while living landlocked, she chases waves whenever she can — her surfing mindset is always ready for the next coastal trip.
Amelia joined 1923 Main Street in 2020, becoming an essential force behind the brand’s evolving identity. With a sharp sense of fashion, along with an eye for color and modern streetwear trends, she shapes many of the graphic concepts and style directions across the collections. She also co-hosts the 1923 Main Street Travel Style Podcast, where her perspective brings a fresh, youthful, and often hilariously direct take on travel, fashion, and life on the move.
Amelia doesn’t just design for the culture — she lives it. Her voice, style, and board-life experience help define what 1923 Main Street stands for: freedom, movement, exploration, and creative expression.
